It's interesting that the author was an atheist, but then he met Jesus in a revelation which led him to the life he leads now. This comprehensive guide to the Bible sounds like quite the endeavor. I'm glad that you were able to use what you read from the Bible to coincide with this book. I agree with you that I don't believe God will favor those who are true Christians, but that he loves everyone. Too bad about the repeating stories, that the dating is confusing, and that the book needs to be proofread. I'm glad you found this to be a good guide to the Bible, though. Thank you for sharing!

I'm not a religious person, so I'll pass on this book. Still the title of the book "The Bible in a Nutshell" promises a lot; the author managed to explain such a grand piece of work in almost 200 pages and it is great. I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I would have to agree with you on the matter of the "true Christian." I myself could not be classified as one simply because I do not engage in the practice of going to church so the use of "true Christian" language would tend to turn me away from this book. However compacting the bible at all is a wonderful accomplishment with some editing and fact checking I could get into the book. Thank you for the good review.

I am not a Christian but I would like to read about the Christian religion just to increase my general knowledge.

As a woman of faith myself, I am intrigued by a book that tries to make the message of scripture more approachable for those who may not be interested in reading the entire book. The concerns of the reviewer will help to approach the book with reasonable expectations.

What are the author's qualifications for writing this book? The last thing we need is another book of someone's opinions on the Bible without scholarly, educated study. However, I can appreciate his passion. I've added this book to my reading list.

I am a believer. I respect this man's faith. However, I don't think I want to read his book. I don't like people telling me what the bible means. I don't mind discussing different interpretations, but I'd rather read the bible myself and come to my own conclusions.

Nice review. This sounds like a good read for people who enjoy Christian literature and people looking to get a look into the bible as it is translated and interpreted “in a nutshell” by this author. Thanks so much for sharing.

It takes courage to be able to delve into a book and thus into a topic of this nature. Thank you! I am intrigued by the author is able to compress so many books into one and make it simple for the reader. I want to read this book as I am fascinated with everything to do about creation and the history of our ancient times. I'm a spiritual person working hard everyday in strengthen my relationship with my higher power. Thank you for your review! I am definitely reading this book!

I think condensing the bible in a single book can be a huge task. On the contrary I think getting to read all the stories of the Bible would be wow.

I'm a Christian and the subjects in this book, especially Revelation, have always been what I'm most interested delving deeper into. I'm always looking for material like this book to read. I love how clearly you inform about the topics within this book, it helped me decide whether to read it or not.

I admire the author's certainty in Christianity. I consider myself a spiritual person, but definitely not a religious one. Any religion that tells you, "This the right way," or, "This is the only way," is not for me. I will be passing on this one.

It sounds like this book has done reasonably well in condensing the Bible in a more approachable format as well as painting an understandable picture of the End Times. Although this book isn't for me, there is a large audience for pieces like this.

I’m more interested in Biblical scholarship that isn’t intended to validate or promote a certain version of the Christian faith than this more evangelical work. Thanks for the review though. It’s clear many readers more open to this kind of book have found tr helpful! And it is definitely thorough and balanced. :)
