Great review. This sounds exciting. It seems as though this brings attention to those with mental and abuse issues. Even though it’s not a biography you feel as though it is, well enough said. I can’t wait to read it.

I'm not usually too keen on characters who are overcoming abuse and such, but I do so love the idea of the grocery store standoff, so I think I'll give it a whirl; I'll see how I like the sample first.

When I read the quick information on this book when it first popped up on Book of the Day, I was not interested in reading it. Thanks to your review, I am now quite intrigued and looking forward to it. Thank you for the wonderful insight into its pages.

Bullying of any kind is never acceptable. Lydia's insanity because of this is understandable. Taking someone hostage is not. This book sounds very intense. Thank you for your review.

I thought this review looked similar, then I checked back with the Amazon page review. You pretty much convinced me on Amazon to read the review before I came to this page, however, I thought we had to say in that review if it was on this site as well? I'm confused there. However great review(s) on both, I'm most definitely going to give it a read now.

Based upon your thoughts I am going to read this book! I too was a bit weary of a book like this but I am a fan of a realistic, and thought provoking story. If it moved you to tears, then I am certain that this will be a great read! Thank you for your review!

This was an interesting review. The description of the protagonist and the situation she's in is engaging enough.
I love the characters which are flawed but warm and intricately beautiful. I'd love to read more about 'Lydia'.

"I Am Not Gog" by Matthew James Hunt sounds like an interesting and practical story. It breaks my heart to listen to or hear stories about child abuse - it’s disheartening and inhumane. However, this story took a different turn when Lydia is bent on avenging her past experience. I would love to know what exactly they did to her and who was Gog? OR what is Gog?

Good and interesting review!

This sounds like the kind of book that requires heavy consideration before jumping right in. Your review mentions many things that draw my attention, especially the protagonist's realistic character depth, but I don't know if I can go through with reading about her tragic circumstances or how she goes about setting things right. I've downloaded it, but I kind of feel like I have to be prepared before reading it, so i might wait.

However, your review was easy to make a decision on. It is honest, engaging, and is written in a way that shows how deeply this truly did affect you. It is in-depth, and gives readers everything they need to make an informed decision. Thank-you for sharing. :)

The fact that you ended this book with tears in your eyes and wanted to Google the fictional character demonstrates the depth of character development by the author. Great job on the review!!

Sounds like a lovely fiction that's able to reach the reader. Even if there are some serious issues discussed within the context, it doesn't appear to distance the readers from the storyline. After reading your review, I'm sure only a very few readers will choose not to read this book. I'm definitely choosing to read it. So, thanks for your lovely review.
