This is an educating book, and the story is so articulate. Books of this nature should mostly be read by parents just so they are aware of the challenges the school (having the principal as the manager) go through on daily bases. Thanks for the review

A true story about the elementary school experienced by this author herself. Being a teacher or a school principal is not an easy task, even harder when the education board refuse to cooperate. I would like to read more by this author.

It is a informative guide administering education sector. Though I am not connected with the education sector, it will be helpful for education administrators.

Having been a teacher and now a trainer for most part of my career, I can' t agree more. There is so much that is wrong with the education systems of the world. Guess what!? I am in Africa! So I see and have seen worse. Nice review.

We take teachers and school staff and administration for granted, often not realizing how hard it is for them to keep up with bad student-to-teacher ratios, lack of supplies, lack of funding, etc. Really, though, these people help shape our children's futures; I know that my teachers certainly helped shape mine. Maybe this book will help lead to more open, honest, and understanding discussions about the education system and how reform should be approached. Thank you for your detailed review.

I started reading the book this morning, and so far I haven't finished reading it. I'm having fun reading it though. The author's writing style is very engaging that I couldn't put it down. I agree with the book reviewer that it deserves a four out of four-star rating.

I like the way Quinto used the word "stakeholders," in a review of Real Principals Have No Class by DeLene Sholes, to refer to the people involved in making schools effective, sustainable and successful. It takes entire communities to make schools accomplish what they are supposed to do. That includes parents, community leaders and teachers. It takes good governance to support state schools. I encountered the use of the words stakeholders and school-community partnerships when I worked for my country's Department of Education in the early 2000s. Development and rehabilitation plans are written and reviewed by the school heads, teachers, parents and community leaders. I sympathize with Ms Sholes for the political challenges she had to handle as a school head. Consultation is easier said than done in education, especially when schools are located in areas with high migration rate. It is a problematic fact of life that education, a basic right, has to compete for government support and work harder for community support. I first encountered Real Principals Have No Class on Dec. 5, 2018, when it was also Book of the Day. Another reviewer explained then that all the events and incidents depicted in the book did happen in real life but Ms Sholes used the novelized format to provide an interesting and well-paced narrative on the contemporary problems of public schools in America. Therefore, names and places were changed. But all the stories are from real life, including events in the first chapter where Ms Sholes is summoned to a meeting regarding parents' complaints about her leadership. This is an interesting eye-opener on the daily struggles of schools in America.
