Yeah, the only that makes Avatar so selling is because of the 3D effects in it and the story line was a bit boring. Titanic was amazing!

Cummon guys!! Titanic was just another romantic story where the hero dies saving the gal!! Although I agree that Avatar was also no exceptional movie, but we all have to agree that Avatar is actually way way better!

Depends what you're into.
If you like love stories and an interesting take on something that realy happened, Titanic all the way.
If you like seeing really cool, interesting graphics and prefer action over love stories as well as sci-fi stuff over historic stuff, Avatar is your pick.

Personally, I think Avatar is severely overrated, indeed a great movie but not as great as everyone is making it out to be and the Titanic... well, that was an instant classic. But I say Avatar would take the cake as far as 3D goes. First of all, because it was made for 3D and second of all, Titanic just isn't one of those kind of movies. The only scene that would be pretty neat to see in 3D is when they hit the iceberg but that's not enough to make the entire movie in 3D. Or, if you're talking general movie wise, they're two different to really compare. It all depends on the mood I'm in or if I feel like listening to Celine Dion (y'gotta admit, that's one crazy, passionate voice she got there).

Since I almost nodded off in the middle of watching Avatar, Titanic would win by default - but really I did enjoy Titanic more.

I agree with Avatar being more superior in the 3D department simply because it was made for 3D viewing which is why these re-releases of movies into 3D just don't work - Lion King and Titanic.
