I do every once in a while, sometimes I will enjoy one Redd's Apple Ale at night and only occasionally will I drink to get a buzz. I don't like the way it feels so I tend not to do it and I am currently nursing my infant so I can't really drink a lot.

I don't usually drink, but I like wine and liquor (so rare to drink them anyway). My drinking habits go as far as half a glass of champagne at night on 31st December!
It's funny because I hate champagne... :?

In my younger days I was quite a party goer and had quite a few poo-poo faced episodes. But anymore I just have an occasional beer and sometimes a mixed whisky and sour. In fact, the doctor told me I shouldnt even have that but I backslide somewhat. If it croaks me at least Ill go doing what I enjoy.

I think drinking or smoking or anything which is addictive is something you almost have to force yourself to do when you are not used to it. The body naturally rebels against alcohol or cigarette smoke. It's sort of like Dracula's castle - you have to willingly cross the threshold, but after you do your butt belongs to him.

I never got into drinking so I don't do it now, but like a damed fool I did get myself into smoking which was one of the worst things I ever did. No health problems so far but the threat is always hanging over me. Don't get me wrong, I can drink a beer or two or a stiff drink but I don't crave either. I'd rather have iced tea or a soda with food than beer, and I only drink the hard stuff at dinner parties and such.

I smoked since I was 16 years old, roll your owns for about the last 20 of those years, Prince Albert, Drum, etc. I quit about 5 years ago, not because of any health reason but I got priced out. A can of tobacco got to be about 50 dollars a can and I can think of a lot better things to spend 50 dollars on. Every once in a while I like a good Cuban cigar but even those are expensive.

I used to smoke and drink. I got hooked on both. I quit both. Cigs are too expensive. Alcohol, let's just say I am allergic to it.

I don't understand why alcohol is still legal compared to another drug which doesn't cause half the trouble as alcohol does, physically and mentally. But yet, that drug is illegal. I've seen people do and experience terrible things while they were drunk.

I am going to answer this thread for the person that started it. If your afraid of becoming an alcoholic then don't drink anything. Better safe than sorry. How many times has someone ended up in jail or some other situations from being tipsy or drunk? Alchohol lowers your inhibitions in a very dangerous way and leads to bad decision making. Unfortunately it's legal and every single person in the U.S. is affected by its use. So no I don't and would be hard pressed to say that I even have one drink a year.

Yes! Same here! White or red?

Usually I go for red, but white gives me less headaches! :wine:

No. I don't like the thought of losing control of myself or blacking out or not remembering anything.
