What do you eat rice with?

Post by Beaches and sunshine »

Rice seems to be an essential part of a meal course for alot of people, but it could be kinda boring to eat it alone .here are a few suggestions for how you could eat rice:
1.keep it simple and try boil rice with cooked pulses and some parsley.
2.fry the boiled rice in a couple of tablespoons of oil and add boiled peas or chickpeas in it.
3.or try a quick and easy rice dessert by adding milk and sugar in some boiled rice.
So how do you eat your rice?

As a main dish? I have it with tuco sauce and cheese, or with tuna, or tuna and an assortment of vegetables, or just the vegetables.
As a side dish, I usually don't add much more than oil or butter and maybe some chopped veggies, depending on what the main dish is.

Being a Nepali, rice is considered as a basic part of meal may be a day or night. I am used to eating with pulse(in Nepal called as "Dal") along with vegetable or any type of curry, salad and papad. Fried rice is a classy and spicy alternative way to eat the ;eftover rice.

I love to eat rice with lentils. You get a more balanced vegetarian meal that way, with carbs and proteins. I like to make some sort of veggie/lentil medley and serve that over freshly cooked rice. :)

Beans and sometimes Chinese food.
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

Best combination ever: rice and a very easy chickpea recipe. I don't know the exact measurements, unfortunately, because I just eyeball the measurements, but it doesn't really matter.
1 garlic clove chopped up
one tiny piece of ginger root (maybe the size of 2 garlic cloves)
*roast them in a pan with a little bit of olive oil until they turn brown
add one can of cooked chickpeas
add 1 cup of vegetable broth and 1/2 cup of vegetable milk (coconut milk is my favorite)
*when everything starts to boil, add one-two tablespoons of flour, and be careful to add little by little and mix in the meantime so it doesn't form lumps.
Stir until the sauce thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste and voila! You can pour it over your rice. Enjoy while it's hot!

Rice is one of my favorite foods (Jasmine, brown, "sticky rice," etc.), so I have it with just about anything. :) My favorites include serving it alongside East Asian dishes such as Dakgangjeong or orange chicken and a vegetable stir-fry, mixing it with scrambled eggs and vegetables (with or without a meat), and covering it with taco salad ingredients.
