I think this is going to be interesting for me since most book I have read so far didn't touch more on racism and and how people dealt with it, i hope this book will be of great help for me. Nice review.

Jgideon's review of Mixed Blessings by J.M. Muse belongs both to the informative and argumentative styles. It gives an account of the plot, mostly around racial disputes, and the reviewer's opinion on how successful the author was. I tend to agree with him as regards Kim's traject in the book. Her story being the first implied, at least to me, that the book would be about her.
A useful review!

Race discrimination is something I often find myself reading about as it is something that I can't understand and I want to see hot these people feel. Thank you for the book of the day recommendation!

It would be nice if racial discrimination could just be settled once and for all, but I'll be long gone before that happens.
Good review.

A novel that brings up a new vision to understand and confront racism. The author focuses on religion, showing how it can be useful or harmful, depending on how they are applied. This book is recommended for those who are interested in learning more about racism in the American context.

Sounds like this book touches on very important subjects, so it's really worth reading. Religious context makes it even more interesting for me. Thank you for a great review!

Well, this is an interesting concept and I do wonder how the author develops it. May need to sample the book before I can decide on if I want to know if Khan succeeds though.

Some topics, I've found in life, are gauranteed to bring out strong reactions in people. Most people find it easier and safer to avoid these sensative topics: Religion, Racism on both sides, the problems that arrise from assigning superiorty based on the superficial. J.M. Muse took on a lot it sounds like with his book, Mixed Blessings. The character Hung Suk intrigues me that he wishes to master love in any given situation. I'd like to read this book not only because it sounds as though the different sides of these conflicts are represented but also because it is sure to broaden the mind and serve as a great reminder of what matters most.

It sounds like an interesting premise that tackles a lot of hot-button issues: race, religion, politics... I'm not sure I would enjoy the author's approach, but I suppose there's no choice but trying it out myself. Thanks for the review!

'Imagine a world where there was no Martin Luther King and Malcolm X' this was what caught my attention in the book summary. This review just amplified my interest. Thanks for the nice and detailed review. :D

Wow ...my first thought was how timely the book is. It has focused on the most contemporary issue right now-racism. I like how he brought in another angle, which is how religion is used to propagate racial wars. With statements like 'Whites were given dominance by God', it really is a sad state of affair. A definite must read.

Books about racial inequality and racism are so important. I absolutely hate that they are needed but they are. This sounds like a well-developed book with great editing.
