I think this book would fulfill what you like in these genres. I hope you will have an opportunity to read this one. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!Tomah wrote: ↑18 Aug 2019, 15:49 I'm always intrigued by portrayals of World War II that focus on some of its less discussed aspects like the participation of countries such as Canada. This sounds like an interesting mix of historical fiction and romance, so fans of both genres should find plenty to enjoy. Thanks for the review!

Yes! That is what caught my attention about this book. Even though it is a war story, the setting made me rethink WW II allies and see the war in a completely different light. I hope you enjoy this one! Thanks for stopping by.sarahmarlowe wrote: ↑20 Aug 2019, 08:33 What an interesting premise! Finally! When I saw the cover, I thought this might be just another WWII love story. (There is a spate of them out there.) But, this soldier's going to Canada to find his love is a fresh plot. Thank you for your review of this one!

Way to go, kdstrack. Amazing review.
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.
When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

Thanks for commenting.Amenrodion wrote: ↑04 Sep 2019, 16:18 Interesting, you never really think or read much about Canada being involved in World War II. Sounds like this book might provide a unique historical perspective that is often neglected

The author did a wonderful job with the aspects you have mentioned. I enjoyed the unique perspective about the war and the building of the romance without either one overwhelming the other. Hope you have an opportunity to read this book.
