I agree with your advice, I think one should never give up.

The best thing you can do is keep writing, trying your best to improve both your writing skills and your story.

Sooner or later you will succeed, it's mostly a matter of commitment and iron will.

martirulli wrote:It took me over 20 years to finish my high-profile non-fiction story about the life and death of the legendary actress Natalie Wood (title: Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour). I wrote it for the former captain, Dennis Davern of Wood's yacht, Splendour, who is my friend.....
An old post but worth commenting on for it's positive outlook and the fact that the mysterious death of Natalie Wood has been resurrected in the media again.

So true. Last year my best friend and I resurrected a children's story from the writer's trunk after more than 23 years in storage. I finished the copy. She created the illustrations. Thus "Sam Meets a Dinosaur" was given life :)

Remember Roots by Alex Haley wa rejected over 200 times...Zen and the Art was re-written repeatedly and rejected 121 times. Today they are both considered classics.

John Grisham resorted to self-publishing for his first novel (A Time To Kill) and literally sold the first copies out of the trunk of his car. It was later re-released.

Never ever ever give up.

We used Blurb :) Most of the chldrens board book publishing houses are located in China...ditto with the pop-up books. Their minimun runs are usually greater than 200 copies. Blurb also offers e-book and both soft/hardback.
