I'm hard-core carnivore - Hey! I'll be using that in a song! - but I don't skimp on veggies, either, so even though I will never become vegan, I do like the idea of new and healthy recipes. I also agree that the pix and recipe should probably be on the same page. Thanks for the introduction! I look forward to checking this out.

I didn't get to see any recipes in the sample but the story was interesting. Wasn't expecting meat to give someone such high cholesterol especially if they work out!

This sounds like an interesting alternative to the standard American diet. I’m still unsure about vegan animal products but probably because I have no idea what they are made of. Thanks for the helpful review!

This is definitely my kind of book! It seemed very informative and as a vegan myself, I will get so much knowledge from this. Congrats!

I am not fascinated about plant-eating diet; I enjoy eating meat. Although the facts portrayed in this book would appeal to vegetarians, "We Don't Just Eat Lettuce!" by Allyn Raifstanger would not necessarily appeal to me. I will skip this one, Thanks!

We Don’t Just Eat Lettuce is one factual genre one should look up to especially those who are keen on their health. Leaving a healthy life has been of great concern in our current social settings and this book is timely to share some light on what should be done to stay healthy. Great review.

I've been on a vegetable-only diet before and it did wonders for my skin. Even though I'm hardcore carnivore, I am tempted to try out some of these recipes. Great review, mate!

I am sorry to say that current book is completely unappealing to me in every way possible. Starting from genre and title, ending with description and cover. But since book made it to the BOTD it must be just weird me)) So congrats and again sorry.

Sounds like a good book; almost all diets these days are promoting the same principles -- less bad fats, less sugars, and more good fats. I may give this one a look. Thanks for the review, EvaDar. :techie-studyingbrown:

I'm not a vegan, but I unsuccessfully tried it a few times. I hope that this book will give me enough reason to maybe try once more and succeed.

I like your review. Even though I am not interested in this book, I liked how you blended the summary of the book and your opinion. Great work!

As a long-time vegan I am really pleased to see a book focused on the health benefits, and written in a non-preachy tone to boot. Thanks for your great review!

Congrats to Allyn Raifstanger on BOTD honors. We Don't Just Eat Lettuce is a book that is a valuable resource for those looking for alternative eating choices that leads to healthy lifestyle changes. Plant based "diets" are being recommended by doctors whose patients were diagnosed with cancer. Raifstanger provides a roadmap that should be regarded as a resource. Well done. :tiphat:

A book advising readers on healthy eating habits and againist the SAD sounds nice, especially during this festive season. thanks for the review.
We're all philosophers. When there's a tough choice to be made, when faced with the facts of birth, love or death or simply when thinking about what we want to do with our lives.

You had me at chocolate! Seriously, for a number of reasons I don't think I could turn vegan, but in recent years I started cutting on meat increasing my consumption of plant-based food. From the review I can see that a book like this one can be useful for anyone looking to improve their health even if they don't plan to turn vegan.
Ciao :)
