Don't be afraid to state your true feelings, in your reviews or in your comments. You can tell by this forum that our bookclub spans the generations and the tastes of many different readers. You are sure to find someone who agrees with you, as I do about the extreme dark tone being a young adult theme. I have found the editors to be fair and helpful in rating my reiews. This is just an unfortunate book to have to start with.Kclarkin09 wrote: ↑09 Feb 2020, 09:28 This is my first book that I have read as a member of the review team. I am slightly confused as all I have seen online are glowing reviews. My initial impression of the book was that it seemed as though the author had used a thesaurus much too liberally. Coming fresh off of receiving my Master’s in English I just couldn’t look past the terrible writing style and syntax errors. I’m also not sure how all of the reviewers could look past the fact that Adam is attracted to his mother and has dark, serial killer type tendencies. I’m not sure this is what our young adult population needs to be reading. As a new reviewer, am I expected to write the ideal review for the author or will I be penalized for giving my honest opinion?

What I liked most about the book was the character development. The author gave insight into the minds of each character as they work through adolescence.
I disliked when the mental abilities became exaggerated and unrealistic.
I would give this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. This book would appeal mostly to young adults, both male and female. It was very enjoyable, and the plot was unique. The characters had flaws but remained interesting throughout.

It's hard to follow the story through the first few chapters, it's off in different directions. Adam's oedipus complex, I find rather disturbing.
The complacency regarding bipolar disorder is also disturbing. Although I have read many reviews that describe it as well written I am under the impression that the author swallowed a thesaurus. It was a labor to read. The writing in this book resembled that of a high schooler trying to make their word count on an essay question. The author left no room for the reader to develop their own sense of the characters, their relationships, their experiences, their emotions or even their environment.

Too much crepuscule complex in the phisical aparience of it to. We have our werewolf here girls. Im no telling using a comic vendor in the Simpsons style, but an averange Joe could work to.
The love interest or female protagonist is well done. She have some deepness and development. And it is not our blonde belle of saphire eyes, i loved it.
The ting that I personally disliked a lot its the criminal bavior of the protagonist. The buger makes some serious troubles and its consecuences trends to be severe.
A good read but not for our childs. So if it was from me i will rate te book 3/4 stars and a big R-18.
