My initial impression of the book was that it seemed as though the author had used a thesaurus much too liberally. Coming fresh off of receiving my Master’s in English I just couldn’t look past the terrible writing style and syntax errors. I’m also not sure how all of the reviewers could look past the fact that Adam is attracted to his mother and has dark, serial killer type tendencies. I’m not sure this is what our young adult population needs to be reading. As a new reviewer, am I expected to write the ideal review for the author or will I be penalized for giving my honest opinion?
Don't be afraid to state your true feelings, in your reviews or in your comments. You can tell by this forum that our bookclub spans the generations and the tastes of many different readers. You are sure to find someone who agrees with you, as I do about the extreme dark tone being a young adult theme. I have found the editors to be fair and helpful in rating my reiews. This is just an unfortunate book to have to start with.

I absolutely loved this book, it is high paced and very entertaining. The dialogue is well developed and enhances the characters. The only thing I disliked in this book is its typos and use of Russian language in the dialogue without translation.

This books gets maximum rating for me. The plot, though revolving around two major characters, was well put together and engaging.

This book is really a good read, as it is about the turmoil some of the teenagers usually encounter. I loved how through writing the author was able to convey feelings that go unnoticed. I also lived the abilities of Adam, though he did not know how to control them.

I just started reading the book and i find it very interesting. I'm particularly interested in Carly's characters although I still find Adam's character a bit confusing.

One of the most interesting characters I've come across in awhile, with the most engaging story line indeed!

Adam and Carly are great together in the novel. Very few novels get the characterization so perfectly right.

The book grabbed my attention and held on.

What I liked most about the book was the character development. The author gave insight into the minds of each character as they work through adolescence.

I disliked when the mental abilities became exaggerated and unrealistic.

I would give this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. This book would appeal mostly to young adults, both male and female. It was very enjoyable, and the plot was unique. The characters had flaws but remained interesting throughout.

I just submitted my review of 4 stars for this book. I've always loved the fantasy and sci-fi genres. I think what I liked most was the character development in this book. And I loved the Author's Note in the beginning.

I couldn't get into this book. Although I enjoy YA, this is a bit dark.
It's hard to follow the story through the first few chapters, it's off in different directions. Adam's oedipus complex, I find rather disturbing.
The complacency regarding bipolar disorder is also disturbing. Although I have read many reviews that describe it as well written I am under the impression that the author swallowed a thesaurus. It was a labor to read. The writing in this book resembled that of a high schooler trying to make their word count on an essay question. The author left no room for the reader to develop their own sense of the characters, their relationships, their experiences, their emotions or even their environment.

I have readed the book, and liked it. Opaque it is change for sure of the Disney perspective of the goodie two shoes main character. Alas I must recognise that Adam is so dark and dork some thimes. The tendency of the use off his powers for petty rasons makes him a true jerk.
Too much crepuscule complex in the phisical aparience of it to. We have our werewolf here girls. Im no telling using a comic vendor in the Simpsons style, but an averange Joe could work to.
The love interest or female protagonist is well done. She have some deepness and development. And it is not our blonde belle of saphire eyes, i loved it.
The ting that I personally disliked a lot its the criminal bavior of the protagonist. The buger makes some serious troubles and its consecuences trends to be severe.
A good read but not for our childs. So if it was from me i will rate te book 3/4 stars and a big R-18.

Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the book. The writing style was stilted and was not particularly pleasing to read. Adam as a character is dark and boring at impossibly the same time. Also, his feelings towards his mother made me feel uneasy but this is a personal opinion.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this book.

So I'm not finished with this book but if I had to rate it right now it would be 1/4stars. Adam is insufferable, and I do not think I can continue to choke down incest fantasies. Please tell me it gets better.

I liked reading this book. Book is quite readable once you get past the initial darkness. My favorite part was Adam and Carly's relationship.
