Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

A very popular one is also Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Amazing. I love that verse of Deuteronomy. That book is particularly powerful.

I liked "You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day....) Psalm 91. I heard this in a song once, and many of the others in songs as well.

Sometimes it really feels like there lots of arrows...

Deuteronomy 31:6 has always been a close one to my heart. And now it is as always; be strong and courageous.
Don't say it's Impossible if you haven't given it a try.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

I find this to be very uplifting; when we are feeling lost in life , it is comforting knowing that we are not alone.
That's very nice, my friend. I loved this quote, as well. "If God Is for Us, Who Can Be Against Us? :tiphat:
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

I agree that all of the Lord's words are given for instruction and guidance. Each one gives us direction and teaching to follow.

I have not read the book yet. It's certainly important to have Bible verses quoted for reference as this points you to the original source of what the author is addressing.

For me, that's the deciding point of whether or not going ahead with reading a book of such genre is beneficial.

Twylla wrote: 06 May 2020, 12:35 I have always appreciated that Jesus didn't waste time praying elaborate prayers. He saw the need and solved the problem. An example is when he prayed for Lazarus to come out of the grave. He said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me." When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out." The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth.

It comforts me to know that I can talk to God the way I would talk to a friend and he will meet me where I am.
Same, I don't enjoy long and lengthy and wordy prayers. You don't have to make yourself seem better than you are. God knows who you are, you can talk to him just as you are.

Alice: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”

The Bible verse that always helps me to get through difficult times is the last verse in John (John 21:25): "And there are also many other things that Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written."
This just reminds me of the miracles He gives us on a daily basis: that every day is a gift from God. He will always take care of us. The verse helps me to remember that God the Allmighty is in control of my life.

Have any of you found a verse that has helped you during a crisis, or possibly found inspiration from the verses provided to use in your life?
1John 4, 8: God is love.

I guess this passage sums up everything. There's not much more that you can add to this.
To read or not to read? That's not even a question!

Psalm 23 is my all-time favourite. I tend to believe that in wring this chapter, David was casting his whole life to God and reminding himself of God's crucial role in his (David's) life.

Yes, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This novel is wonderfully written because it will not be complete without a Bible reference.

The problem with Bible versus is that a lot of people take them out of context. Someone said "an eye for an eye is in the Bible" to me the other day. I had to point out that's not the point of that passage.

I've always been encouraged by the Bible verse 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

Being a Christian this book communicated to me in many spheres, i was emotionally drifted by Psalm 34:18 ( The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit).
