This book couldn't come up to my expectations. At least, in children book such negative statements are unaffordable and can leave bad impact on them. I'll skip this book. Congratulations on BOTD.

This is a sweet and a small children's book that even adults enjoy and learn the kindness, and other good characteristics to build and learn from the moral of the story. Thank you for the review and also how well you have given the insight of the story.

I wholeheartedly agree with the opinion that dropping off an animal at the side of the roads inexcusable, and it's a pity that it even made it into this otherwise lovely little book. The inclusion of extra material for parents and teachers is a great idea. Thanks for the great review.

I had not given much thought to the phrasing of the line above but after reading the review it does, for sure, sound ambiguous. I hope it will be corrected because apart from it this is an incredible book. Thanks for the informative review.

I am grateful for authors of children books. And Julie has done a good job.
Teaching children the art of empathy and problem solving is very essential to raising a balanced generation. That's why I'd recommend this book.
Helping refugees shouldn't be limited to animals. I hope parents and caregivers point that out when reading the book to the children.

I love children's book. I like the concept of the story. Helping a stranger is an off-limits to anyone else. This book will guide children the proper way of handling refugees.

A very interesting children's book with a powerful message of compassion. I reviewed this book and gave it four stars and even though it is categorized as children's book, I'd recommend it to all readers.

I liked reading the book except for where the author took it too far. It's an amazing book for children as it's educative and also entertaining

I had the chance to read this book to my nieces, and we learned both new words such as refugee and immigrant as well as valuable notions related to kindness, gratitude, altruism, and that life is not always pink. The author's guidance toward animal shelters was educative along with additional activities provided. Thank you for the thoughtful analysis.

Wow this book does have an interesting premise. I think barnyard animals and refugees are a very interesting way to communicate to kids about refugees. I agree with you about that line being inappropriate for young kids and I am also frustrated about too much leniency given to those who abandon Blue. Thanks for the honest review!

This looks a very interesting story for children. The book teaches a valuable lesson for the kids through the story. But I agree that dropping off your pet should have been presented as an option among many. Thanks for a great review.

The Barnyard Buddies Meet a Newcomer was a good short story that was about a Dog. The barnyard buddies give food and help the dog and hide it from the owner but the owner finds him and the dog helps Jim in saving the chickens. Jim thinks to move the dog to shelter home but Jim think of his old dog red and thinks to keep the blue with him. Jim says he doesn't have much but we can share. I really liked the kindness the barnyard buddies and Jim showed to blue.
