First and quite important, the title is catchy and yes the book does tell more than the story of Cain and Abel, so the other stories can be looked at as bonuses (or not?)

I agree. I knew going in that it was going to be from Adam and Eve up to Noah, but based on the title, I really expected the murder to fill such a larger spot than it did. I like it when you read a book and suddenly the entire title makes sense and ties up everything. This one doesn't do that.

Because the book does not majorly concentrate on Abel, it's covers the Bible all the to the time of Noah.
Given that the book does not majorly concentrate on Abel, it might've been better to title it as The Old Testament: Rewritten or some sort of title that encompasses the time up until Noah. Maybe From Genesis to the Flood, for example.
I thought of that too, thanks for dropping a comment.

I agree with you. It is short, to-the-point and catchy. Although, the story was not entirely centred around Abel for the majority of the novel; it ended in a unique and satisfying way that justified the name.

The title could have been something else as the current title does not cover the entire realm of the book. It focuses only on one aspect, which is deceptive for the reader.

As I read, I'm beginning to think it should be called 'Revisions.

But I think I may understand the name, maybe the authors intention was to show that he's writing from the human side of things, the relatable side.
"Revisions" would be more appropriate. :lol2:
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

At first I thought the book was about crime, it never crossed my mind that it was biblical based. I think the title was chosen purposefully

The title is eye catching and I think it is appropriate. It is a good way to draw interest and some that are not religious might pick it up to read the story.

The title is intriguing. After reading the book, I foumd that the death of Abel is the spark that lit the fire of conflict in the story. It was the momentum that pushed the ball rolling so the title is connected to the story.

Indeed, catchiness is a good reason to choose a title and a good murder is always intriguing to read about, even if it is as old as the beginning of times. In this case, I believe the title is misleading, as the book is about more than the killing of Abel.

Being a non-Christian, I would have not guessed the book was about The Bible from the title. But after reading the book reviews, I think the title suits the book.

Exactly! Even I felt the same about the title. I think this title was not relevant. Even though it's catchy, the author should have considered another title instead.

I would have named the book, "Mercy, Vengenance, Justice". I think "Killing Able" is too narrow.

I realize the act of murdering Abel kicked off a series of events over time and that probably the reason for the name of the book. But if that is true, then why wasn't the book called "Cast Out of Eden"? That is where everything started.

Seeing the title,I already believed the book was about Abel but No, it covers most part of the Bible therefore the title doesn’t fit.

The title is okay on it's own, but definitely isn't right for this book. Killing Abel feels more like a crime thriller. Religious wouldn't even cross my mind when only reading the title.
