It sounds exciting even though the Queen of Crimson seems to be a confusing character. Thanks for the detailed review.

This book sounds a bit complex for my liking. I am not a fan of such. But I do love the detailed review. But I will pass this one.
Great review

I'm already dreaming of this book. As a big fan of fantasy and female heros, this book is definitely a yes for me. Beautiful review.

Thank you jhollan2 for the review. I have not read a lot of sci-fi fiction novels. Your depiction of the main character having conflicting traits; physically and mentally trained warrior/assassin, with lack of common sense or “being streetwise”, does not seem likely. Due to a lack of peace in our current world, reading about war is not very appealing to me. Congrats on your first novel and being BOTD.

This debut novel sounds like it has the makings of an intriguing series in the fantasy genre. I like the multidimensional plot idea where the characters have different agendas and each has hidden truths. If written properly, this will be very interesting. Thank you for the great review.

What an interesting book! Just by reading this review, I know that I would love to read this. Dystopian novels are fascinating as we can really see how the author thinks and what kind of worlds they can create. Of all the characters to be introduced to in a fantasy world, a female assassin is unexpected but it sounds exciting. Thanks for the insightful review!

Being an assassin doesn't necessarily negate character judgement. She kills for someone else without question. I look forward to reading this because of the qualities, good and bad. Great job of providing an honest review!

Great review, Aerietta's fate seems to to have been written since birth from her birthmark of bloody roses. She experienced betrayal, loss, defeat and revenge is her drive. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds.

I like fantasy and this book sounds interesting will lots of adventures and magic. Some people were a bit dissatisfied with Aerietta's character but I think she is great. Despite being a strong willed woman and a well trained assassin, deadly to her enemies, she was naive and trustworthy with her friends or at least with those she considered her friends and that makes her a believable person (at least in my opinion). Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Sounds like I really should give this book a try even though typically fantasy genre is totally not my cup of tea. But there are always exeptions and story about female assassin and betrayal reminds me of Arya Stark and I just need to read this book. Congrats with BOTD and thanks for giving it for free!

Wonderful review. I would understand as to why you may be irked as these disparities do not make for a cohesive read. Hopefully, we can more of her strength in later novels.
