I KNOW Er Lang is coming back. He is!
I will hear nothing less.
I want to yell at Li Lan for not just returning to her body.

Have you discovered the identity of Er Lang yet? How cool is that?!
Indeed! She was foolish not to go immediately to her body. And I didn't care for Fan at all!

I kind of suspected that. It was a good twist, though.

I love the story/premise. I love Er Lang, and I love her decision to go with him.
While she was in the Plains, I really preferred Tian Bai. However, once she was back in her body and he hadn't noticed it wasn't her/she'd changed, I lost all soft feelings for him.
I do wish there had been more build up between her and Er Lang (she went from being goo goo over Tian Bai to noticing Er Lang a little too easily/quickly for me), and, honestly, I just wanted more of the back and forth between them. They were some of the best parts of the book.
I kind of wish we'd gotten to see their reunion and her leave with him, but I enjoyed it, regardless.

I agree the romance between her and Er Lang developed too fast, and the ending was abrupt. Giving us an epilogue would have added to the book.
I wasn't sure she would choose Er Lang and loved that she dared to go with her heart.
How did you rate the book? I gave it 3/4 due to some dragged parts, the quick romance, and the abrupt ending. I did enjoy the writing, the premise, and the plot, though.

I love that I didn't expect the outcome. I initially (before actually starting the book) expected her to wind up with the dead man.
In my defense, that is a fairly common trope.
