Very interesting and quite original storyline. I definitely never encountered anything alike it so major points for novelty as well. Granted it is a bit more brutal than my normal choice, but I believe you can't expected anything less when war is involved.

This seems like a very action packed book. I'm not sure whether or not the scenes will be too graphic for my taste though. I'm willing to give this book a shot and read it. The story seems very interesting. Wonderful review!

A man fights against the atrocities happening in the Evin Prison in Tehran after his own brother becomes imprisoned there. This book tells of interrogation and torture. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

Based on your review, this sounds like it would be a great read, particularly for someone interested in the Middle East. However, it doesn't sound like something I would be interested in reading. Thank you for your review.

I'm not in the right headspace to read this at the moment, but may come back to it in a few months. I'd like to learn more about the Middle East. Thanks for a great review.

I remember how volatile this time in history was. It sounds like this author has vividly captured the reality of the time. I will skip it because of the widespread violence throughout. Thank you for the beautiful review.

I don't know anything about the Pahlavi dynasty or the replacement of the monarchy with the Islamic Republic of Iran, but this book sounds exciting and full of action. I may just have to check this one out.

This doesn't sound like a book that would be good for be due to the torture scenes. But those who have an interest in Iranian History may enjoy it. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

A close-up of the turbulent years preceding the return of Ayatollah Raollah Khomeini, The Pahlavi Sword by Jemil Metti is a novel filled with drama, action, and suspense.
For anyone interested in this period of history in Iran, the author does an excellent job of bringing it alive for the reader, including detailed descriptions of torture and other inhumane conditions. Unfortunately, it's not for me; I'm too faint of heart. Great review!
