Topographer - A person who describes or maps the topography of a place or region.

The writer Ambrose Bierce was a topographer with the Union army during the Civil War.

Obliterate - remove completely from recognition or memory;

They obliterated the competition because their life depended on it; it was nothing personal.

Bregma - The part of the skull where the frontal bone and the side bones come together.

When I misbehaved as a child, my dad would thump me on the bregma.

I bet he did no such thing. Making dad look bad.

rancour - a feeling of deep and bitter anger and ill-will

While he bore little rancour towards Mrs White, her daughter was another matter altogether.

A please.

My dad didnt really, a swat on the butt would suffice.

Anthemion - A flat decoration of floral or leaf forms, used in painting or relief sculpture.

I did a painting of my back yard, and used an anthemion to give it some color. (Not really, the only thing I ever painted is my house.)

N again.

Googled the images of anthemions. Never knew what these things are called. They still use them in Pakistan in building fancy mansion style villas. Especially on the front of the balcony. Good word!

Nacreous - having the lustre of mother-of-pearl

Nacreous clouds hovering over the graveyard lent a sombre touch to the funeral proceedings.

A please.

Actinium - A radioactive chemical element found with uranium and radium in pitchblende and other minerals.

Andre-Louis Debierne, a French chemist, announced the discovery of actinium in 1899.

C to you.

I am thinking I drew a J. Jodhpur-riding breeches loose above the knee and tight fitting below

The woman dressed in jodhpurs even though the rest of the party wore jeans.

Hi, normally we go for the second letter of the last word. It was c but J is ok this time around since you didn't know the rules. Welcome aboard.:)

I will add something with c to stick with the rules. :)

Cacotopia - a state in which everything is as bad as it can be; also known as a dystopia, as opposed to the state of utopia.

A cacotopia, alternately known as dystopia, is often characterized by dehumanization, totalitarian governments and environmental disasters.

A please.

You and your history! :( don't use names. That's cheating. Common nouns only.

Snivelling - cry or whine with snuffling

No use Snivelling about the women chasing you; you are after all, a very eligible bachelor!

In honor of valentines day. ;)

Narwhal - An Arctic cetacean valued for its oil and ivory.

On my last expedition to the North Pole, we saw and studied many species of sea creatures, including the narwhal.

Rules save your life. I never break rules, even if it means giving up something I really want. :)

abatis - a line of defense consisting of a barrier of felled or live trees with branches (sharpened or with barbed wire entwined) pointed toward the enemy.

I wish I could use words as an abatis to protect us from hypocrites who sicken me with their lies.

B please.

Great fun - difficult deciding which word to use - got side-tracked by reading the dictionary, found some interesting old words that should be re-introduced (that would make a good game too), practically had to pick one at random:

Boondoggle - American colloquialism meaning: to work, especially for the government, on wasteful or unnecessary projects.

'The ability to successfully boondoggle seems to be a requirement in any large organisation today.'

O please someone.
