This historical fiction novel seems to have a lot of aspects from Rome, some romance, and adventures too. I don't think it is for me, but congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction following a woman, Amora, and her husband, Roman nobleman Leo, as they deal with their daughter found dead after her birthday. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Thank you for your review. I had already decided I wanted to add this book to my list of books to read, but your review made me doubly sure of that decision. I also enjoyed what the author wrote at the very beginning about why he wrote the book. As a parent, it may be difficult to read, but as a Christian, I am grateful I can love Him freely here in the US.

My love for books like this that centres on thought-provoking themes. Choosing between vengeance and forgiveness is a very hard decision to make. This book shows how Christians life should be in spite of what happened in the past.

Life has its ups an downs and we are asked to follow the higher meaning in life, which means soaking yourself in forgiveness as it is a divine virtue. Let vengeance for God as he really judges each person according to his deeds. Let us not imitate his vengeance but his forgiveness, this book definitely is a spiritual book for mature souls and how they should make a hard choice when life throws such a situation at you.

We are taught to forgive. Forgiving the murderer of your child seems like too much to ask. This looks like a very difficult read.

You have given us a great review. Full of just enough detail and interesting information to make it clear that we need to get busy and read the whole book. I had read only a few pages before coming here, and was not sure if I would enjoy it. But after reading your review, I think that I will find it quite good.
Thank you again for a great job!!

Losing a child is something one can't even imagine. It demolishes your soul. You certainly want revenge. This book is all about that. With a rich rome culture. And it talks about God. This book is a must read. Thanku fir the great review. Congratulations on being botd.

The characterization of Amora seems in a splendid form, and the aspects of vengeance and forgiveness in the light of Christian belief sound enlightening.

Amora appears to have a strong character at its core. The themes are definitely very thought provoking. But this doesnt seem like my cup of tea. I am sure those who pick up this book will surely enjoy it.

Everyone wants to be forgiven, but we find it is a struggle to forgive others. Forgiving someone who hurts your child seems like it would be impossible. I loved the way you described the plot! This sounds like an intriguing story. I am looking forward to reading Amora's story. Thank you for the compelling recommendation.
