The book, Happiness is All We Want, written by Ashutosh Mishra, is a novel centered on human well-being. Happiness is defined by the author as not only having what we want but also having the ability to enjoy what we have continuously. He believed that humans pursue happiness in the wrong direction, giving an example of a student who felt that she would be ecstatic after gaining admission. However, as soon as she commenced her studies, she became unhappy.

Mr. Mishra explained the steps to achieving total happiness, and in that, he emphasized how personal neglect has been growing at an alarming rate. People are so keen on success that they fail to look after things that matter the most. That is, the body, soul, and mind.

Happiness is All We Want is divided into three parts, explaining how the body, soul, and mind are of utmost importance to achieving happiness and comfort. He explained further how meditation had helped him make reasonable decisions and boosted his efficiency at work. Mr. Mishra also gave examples of different types of meditation and how to execute them, of which I find my favorite to be Yog-Nidra. All of these meditations were dubbed Smart Well-Being Capsules [SWC].

Exercising patience while reading this book helped me enjoy it more, and I realized that the more I took my time, the more information I gained. After I tried out one of the SWCs by staring at a spot on the wall for twenty minutes, I realized how calm I was afterward and how relaxed I would be when doing it daily. I appreciate how educative this book is, and I love the tune of the book, which sounds like an interaction between two people instead of listening to a long and monotonous lecture.

However, I disagree with some of the author’s views, especially when he talks about a situation he had with his boss that involved losing his job. I also find it offensive that he referenced humans as monkeys at the beginning of every sub-topic. For example, in subtopic 1.6, "The Mind of a Monkey!" I also disapproved of the first few subtopics of the book, as they were all mixed up and confusing, not to mention the repetitions! However, it gets better when reading downstream.

Apart from the trifle error I encountered, I can say that it was edited professionally. These factors contributed to my logic for rating the book 2 out of 4 stars. Happiness is All We Want contains valuable information needed for everyone before entering into full adulthood. Thus, I further recommend this book to young adults and teenagers.

Any book which makes or helps us in becoming happy is a hearty welcome. The review clearly shows that the Book has some good points but there are some deficiencies also in the presentation. Anyway, thanks for the truthful review.

We should all try to do the best for our well-being. However, I feel that happiness is very subjective, and it can be achieve through different methods for each person. Thank you for sharing your sincere thoughts!

I guess the author wanted to stress the fact that humans have in common with other primates instincts, emotions, and feelings, so certain types of behavior and reaction are deeply rooted in human brains and contribute to happiness and unhappiness. Thank you for your honest review!

I think we do lose track of the fact that happiness does not come from the things or success that we have accumulated. If this book helps some people become happier, then it is worth reading. I hope the author takes your criticism constructively and fixes the weaker areas. Thanks for your informative and interesting review!
