Just be careful not to throw out the baby with the bath!
Think carefully - there have to be positives here, and if you set out to the exact opposite of everything your parents did you may go too far in the other direction and make mistakes by losing out on those good things they gave you. It is important to strike a balance, and we know your parents nurtured you, and rest assured that they love you.
They probably even love each other, in their way. I know some people who spit and spat all day long, but they really do love each other a lot and wouldn't dream of divorcing, even though the relationship looks unhealthy to anyone within hearing range.

I just don't know. I would think all day that God would give me a sign as to what I am supposed to know or how I am supposed to live. But lately, like many other people, I have realised that whatever I do, it has to be my own decision. I will have to own up to the consequences and live with the responsibilities.
I guess I am just scared and vulnerable. Being a creature of habit, change always hits me harder than most others.

Apparently you have the chance to meet lots of nice guys.

But remember, wherever you go, there you are.

Scared and vulnerable may not get you the result you are hoping for, and as tough as it is, you need to approach a relationship from a position of strength and independence. Not in a mean way, not to take a position of power or to make the other person feel afraid or vulnerable, but presenting yourself as a person who is confident and happy will lead to meeting confident happy people.

A relationship requires two willing participants. I never like guys who are available to me.

I am with you there - if anything ever happened to this one, I think I might be done.
But you sound a little young to be thinking that way.

I have never heard of Isabel Allende and the House of the Spirits. Are they good? What is the book about?

Good composition. Lots of light and shade. Love is a very complex thing isn't it. It can bring out the worst in people and can bring out the best..it's a roller coaster really. I think in any relationship you have to realise you are going to have good times but you also are going to have bad times. Keep writing!

Isabel Allende is from South America and lives in California I think now.
I like her books a lot and House of the Spirits is the best one.
It is the story of three generations of women from the same family and how they survive the tough times.
I like books about strong women that I can learn from, to remember to be strong.

Have you read Danielle Steel? If not, try The Long Road Home, Journey or Granny Dan? You would like them.

Lovers Eye's indeed hold in a universe of their own.

Your words create a potent imagery and have successfully captured something which I absolutely agree with. I look forward to reading more from you.

Best regards

Why do you have to remember to be strong? The way you talk seems as if you are a very strong person yourself.
