Too Predictable? Or perfect foreshadowing? (Contains spoilers)

The book was true to form and I didn't find it predictable. Pirates will be pirates. He characters simply as they would have if they were real people. Sometimes reality can be quite predictable if you know the nature of humanity.

I think most authors and writers try to leave hints and clues to their audience and readers as to what they intend to achieve without giving much away. And this was not that different. Had you not mentioned it, I honestly wouldn't have noticed these connections infact.

Sure! I agree it wasn't that obvious. It was necessary to the plot also but nothing close to a spoiler.

Another thing is that whether something is a spoiler or not is usually perspective based. What spoils the book for someone will make it intriguing for another. My inclination is to the latter.

As I read the book, I didn't find anything very predictable except Captain Joshua being the father of Devonte. Their similar eye colours hinted towards it. Other than that, I think the story was great, with perfect foreshadowing. The author did a wonderful job of hiding the clues right in front of our eyes!

There were just too many coincidences. Once they started falling like dominos, the predictability opened up like a blooming flower, especially concerning Brandy's parentage. I saw it coming from a mile away.

I didn't think the story was predictable. Yes, there were obvious leads but I believe they were necessary. When I found out Captain Joshua was the father of Devonte, I was pleasantly shocked. It made perfect sense.
