Killing Abel, a book written by Michael Tieman explains the creation of mankind from the Christian standpoint (as in the Bible). Referring to the bible, the book elaborates on Adam and Eve from their time in the Garden of Eden to the time they were banished by God because they fell for the temptation of Lucifer. After their banishment, God placed a generational curse on both Adam and Eve for failing to obey his one instruction (not to eat from the tree of knowledge). Due to this curse, Adam and Eve faced a series of hardships. In actuality, though Adam and Eve were fully grown physically, mentally they were just six days old. A long time passed, and Adam and Eve had many children, including Cain, their first son, and Abel, a child of faith.

Cain and Abel were two brothers who loved each other dearly. Abel, the humble and God-loving one, and Cain, the arrogant and manipulative one. Every Saturday during offerings, Cain manipulates Abel into doing the task Cain himself ought to do. This went on for a long time till Abel decided not to take on the responsibilities of Cain anymore. Out of anger, Cain kills Abel and goes on the run so his family won't seek vengeance. Would Cain be able to escape? Or would he be caught by his family? Read the book and find that out.

This was a fascinating book. The author carried out a great deal of research before writing this book. There is so much information about the lives of Adam and Eve in this book that most Christians don't know. I, for one, didn't know Cain was the 13th child of Adam and Eve after the first 12 children were girls. The plot of the book, though biblical, didn't feel that way, and I found that very interesting. A high number of people would rather watch or listen to the stories of the Bible instead of reading the Bible itself. So this book coming in a story-like manner made me love it even more. While referring to the verses in the bible, which I found respectful, the book also has some amazing quotes. Of all the quotes, the one I can't seem to get out of my head is the narrator's quote, "The future and the past do not exist. Life is only lived in the present..." This quote was able to answer some questions in my head.

There was nothing in this book that I didn't like. There were no errors in the book, and there was no profanity. It was beautifully edited and is a very captivating book.

As previously indicated, I found no defects in this book and hence rate it a four out of four stars . It's well earned.

Although the book follows the Christian narrative as told in the Bible, I see no reason why non-Christians should not read it. Overall, I recommend this book to individuals who are as interested as I was in learning more about Adam and Eve and their descendants.

I'm still planning to read this book, and your review gives me a hint about the plot. I also wonder about how Cain killed Abel.

Well researched books have exciting outcomes, and the biblical story has gaps in which killing Abel seems to cover. I enjoyed this book while reading it and loved it.

Cain killed Able in the most ferocious manner. You should give the book a try, it'll be worth it.
Thanks for the comment.

I agree with you, the Bible didn't lay much emphasis on the Children of Adam and Eve, let alone the killing of Abel. It does say, Cain, Killed Abel, Yes, but why?
Thanks for the comment.

I have always known about the story of Cain and Abel but I only found out today that Cain is the 13th child of Adam and Eve, thanks to your review. I look forward to reading the book.

I like the way you went about writing your review, well detailed and honest.
This book gives a new perspective to the story of creation. Who would have thought that there was way more to the story of Adam and Eve?

The fact that you mentioned Saturday was really surprising. How could they deduce the day of the week during the creation period? This is a factor I would like to find out. Wonderful review by the way.

This novel will answer some questions that has been rumbling in your mind. I didn’t know there’s something like ‘caining’ a child until I cane across it in this novel.

Such an excellent review. I particularly enjoyed the author's retelling of the creation narrative. I'll say that compared to the biblical story, it was considerably more thorough and intricate. I particularly appreciated that you also highlighted two of my favorite passages from the book.

Killing Abel is an interesting and informative book. After I read Killing Abel I saw the popular bible story, Adam and Eve from a different and surprising point of view. Thank you for your descriptive review though.
