I actually don't agree with you. I don't think there's a need to 'escape' the 'bro culture' as you put it. Obviously any toxic masculinity trait should not be acceptable but I feel like guys should be allowed to do and have their thing. I mean we girls also have our things and trips like girls' night out or no boys allowed.margaretjacobson12 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2020, 15:47 I read Man Mission and thought the concept of the "bro" culture was overused and outdated-- we see this culture every where-- it's in real life, pop culture like the "Hangover" movies-- and we really haven't been able to escape it yet.
Does anyone else think we could have gotten something new?
And who else felt the storyline of the 15 Man Missions were redundant? We all knew injuries would be sustained and there would be run-ins with nefarious actors. Maybe 5 Man Missions would have sufficed?
Curious to know if anyone else had these thoughts...

Exactly my thought. Thanks for such a nice comment.Krishalliday wrote: ↑06 May 2020, 16:11 I definitely see what you are saying about the “bro” culture, BUT I think that was the point of the book, to challenge society’s view on what it means to be a “man”. I liked how he learned by the end that it is important to be vulnerable, open, and present in all moments of life. I thought the man missions were very symbolic of the struggles he was going through in his day to day life. I thought it was very relatable and I am a woman
