Parents should be observant enough to understand the essential needs of their children, and to supply such to the best of their ability. It's unfortunate that Marshall's father could not give his son the love and approval he desires. The consequence of this is not palatable. The author's artistic development of the characters is commendable.

Baseball ain't my thing, so I'll have to pass on this. But I won't mind recommending it to those who love the sport.
Thanks for the review.

Sounds like an interesting story, but I don't think I will read the book because historical fiction is not my cup of tea neither sports. I will skip this book. Sorry.

This sounds like an amazing story with well-developed characters. Little Marshall must be heartbroken by his father's distance and indifference. When the two baseball players, Roger and Mickey, move into the neighborhood, he has to hide the secret of their identity. I would like to know how they bond. Congratulations on BOTD!

I am not a big fan of historical fiction, but this one has gotten my attention. The storyline sounds interesting and the theme is just wonderful. I would gladly give it a try. Thanks for the review.

A historical fiction set in a small town, featuring friendship and character growth- this seems right up my alley. Thanks for the awesome review!

The M&M Boys.
The introduction statement of wanting to kill the father not literally though was interesting.
To attract his attention he had to use baseball.
"Baseball used to be the ticket to his attention."
"You work hard,You Play Hard and You win.
"No Boy of mine is gonna be a Loser"
These statements caught my attention and shows the father demanded excellence.
I loved the incidence at the Plane with the Old Woman wanting the front seat rather than the back seat.
The back and forth with the Stewardess who was nice to him but mean to the Old Woman.
It was nice of him to offer his first class seat to the Old Woman.
"I produced my best crooked Fargo smile."
"I didn't feel like much of a hero as I endured a roller coaster of endless turbulence perched in the last row grasping the arm of my seat as the plane bucked and rolled"
"I tried to recall if I had paid the last premium on my life insurance" were hilarious statements.
I didn't like cursing words.
Grammar of You and Me should rather be You and I.
I am not a Baseball Fan so in between some chapters I just read through not keen on the details.

I’m not into baseball, I don’t like it and I have never watched a baseball match. I am also not a fan of historical fiction. Although this book is not for me, but it seems to be a nice book for people who like baseball and historical fiction. Congratulations on being the book of the day! Nice and well-detailed review.

I honestly don't like the setting and I don't like historical fiction novels, so I'm going to pass on reading this one. Seems like a sensitive and well-thought-out story about a boy who had been through a lot. Congrats on botd. Great review.

Readers who love baseball and want to read a book with multi-faceted characters like Marshall, Roger, Mickey, and Jules should read this book.
