Review of Heavens Redemption

Brian and Ciara stumble upon a doorway to a planet on the stars, Celaeno. It is one of the many planets created by Yeshua with life forms in them. The discovery of this other world exposes the existence of creatures that are truly unique and different from humans. But just like mortals, they struggle with sin and are not free from the hold of sin.

Heaven's Redemption is the second book in the Lucifer Unbound series written by Brandy Marks that captures Adonai's effort in drawing his creations back to Him. He does all He can to draw them away from their sinful lives, mistakes, and deeds. As He tries to draw them near to Him, there are also dark forces working to drive them further away from the Lord. Can they ever find their way back? Or would it be too late?

There are some positive aspects to this book. The author successfully captured the pure, kind, and merciful nature of Adonai and Yeshua. They want nothing more than to draw all closer to their maker. Throughout the book, I could feel their love for all their creations. When Adonai had allowed Meira to be dragged into the well by beasts of Eden, I could not fathom what could be His intentions. But in the end, His good intent for His people was shown. This bears so much similarity to the nature of God.

More so, there are subtle and powerful messages embedded in this book. There are messages of forgiveness, salvation, healing, restoration, and acceptance. Despite the grave sins most of the characters committed against Adonai, He always saved, forgave, accepted, and healed them once they showed their faith and belief in him. Marcy had been a whore who sold her body to afford her addiction to drugs. She had believed that she was beyond redemption and salvation. All it took was for her to sincerely say a prayer to Adonai for her sins to be forgiven. Just like I realized, readers would realize that no one is beyond redemption.

There are negative aspects to this book as well. There were numerous errors in this book. I doubt the book was ever handled by an editor. It was definitely not professionally edited. Most dialogues between characters felt incomplete and vague. You would not know which character was talking to who. The book was fast-paced, with a lot of characters. Rather than focus on properly developing a few characters, the author introduced a lot of poorly developed characters and stories. Most of the stories ended up feeling either incomplete or irrelevant. I was also uncomfortable with the degree of sexual content in this book.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because of the above reasons. I recommend this book to fans of new adult fiction, thrillers, and biblically inspired fiction.
