My old man once told me, "Your tongue can build or destroy." This book relates more to these words. In a current generation where respect is determined by how much you make, having good communication skills is a huge problem, especially for youth. I look forward to learning more from this book.

I believe that a lot of the communication skills that the authors argue that we have lost come from humans spending too much time on anonymous social media (where skills like empathy are less valued), and less time communicating face to face--which is something we still need to do! This book sounds like it could be a big help. Thanks for your review.

Thanks for this review of the book, I have learned a great deal about it. It was informative and persuasive and I would like to try this one out. As someone who can relate and wanted to improve one's own communication skills, I think this book would help me and anyone with its lessons and studies. Using the pandemic as an example is a great idea by the authors as this is a universal experience for a lot of people.

I liked how the authors explained the importance of communication for physical and mental health, and how they used real and current cases, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, to illustrate the positive and negative effects of communication. I also found interesting the neuroscientific approach they adopted to show how the human brain reacts to stress and threat, and how we can control our automatic responses. However, I would have liked the book to include more practical exercises and activities to put into practice the concepts learned.
