I know it may sound so girly, but how about the "action" behind the door? I mean, there are many excellent writers but not all of them write good love scenes - if they write them at all when it comes to romance, especially historical. Not that it matters, I'm just curious.Paliden wrote:Yes, she is that good! LOL! If you like historical romance, then I would totally recommend her. She is probably my favorite HR writer.

I can't even choose my favourite of hers for her highland series because I thoroughly enjoyed each one. My overall favourite of hers was Prince Charming, which was a regency and western romance.

I have found that, back in the day, (before the 2000s) Regency romance meant no love scenes or closed door scenes, modeled after Georgette Heyer's books. If you categorized yourself as "historical romance" then it meant there may have been some hubba hubba going on, if you get my meaning, even if it technically took place during the Regency era. I read a lot of books with a lot of love scenes these days. Publishers love them, even for historicals. I've read a lot of old historical novels from the 90s that had them too (but not as detailed as this day and age).Lydia wrote:I know it may sound so girly, but how about the "action" behind the door? I've never read that interview. I wish more novels had more humour, especially in romance. There's a lot of brooding and aching, which is expected, but sometimes falling in love can be fun or embarrassing. I don't always want it to be gothic and so heartbreaking. She does it so well, especially since her men are alphas.Lydia wrote:She's generally a woman with loads of humor. There was an interview of hers in InD'Tale Magazine, and she made even that into one of the most hilarious things I've read. She's certainly one of a kind
