I'm not big on historical fiction but I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad idea to discover the history of the engineering profession. Great review.

There are things we get to discover by working with other people. Would love to read this book to find out more about Ben and Esther. Congrats on BOTD.

I had never heard of the Quebec Bridge disaster before. I am curious to see what engineering students, Ben and Esther, discover while working on an assignment about it. This book sounds intriguing so congratulations on BOTD.

Making the Quebec Bridge Disaster the central focus of the novel is smart since those who are familiar with and fascinated by this event will be attracted to the story.
Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

Sounds like a book worth reading as u am sure Ben and Esther would enlighten me on the concerns of one of the original engineers of Quebec bridge. Thanks for the review.

There are benevolent bits of suspense in this novel, like the content of the journal belonging to the engineer that worked on the Quebec Bridge and the reasons behind Ben and Esther's suspicions of each other and their subsequent enthusiasm on each other. The character development is also commendable, and the thorough editing done in this book admirable.

Originally The Bridge by Andrew Palmer, did sound like a textbook, University Engineering students would have, but as I continued to read, I too got interested and I'm not an Engineering student.
It is an all-encompassing piece of fiction with actual historical events woven into it.
- This is a great way of learning things which are usually boring and it certainly bridged the gap of thought. Thank you for a captivating review! I even learned some new words like "stilted", "interspersed" and "qualm" , which I'm ever waiting to do.

I really enjoyed this, it was a very easy to read novel and I didn't want to finish it because then I'd have to stop reading.

I'm curious if anyone who read this book had any prior knowledge of the Quebec Bridge disaster? I didn't.
