I care little about books on magic. However, I am curious about what happened to Magician Borlock. Did the adventure Delvin went on with Jarla and Fionella have anything to do with Magician Borlock? It seems like there is a gap between the two instances. One minute Delvin is standing over a dead body with a chair leg in his hand, and the next minute he is off on an adventure. Thanks for the great review!

The Magicians Secret sounds like an excellent novel. I love all novels that have magic in them. I like the fact that the author was a bit vague on the character appearance; it gives one the opportunity to create your own ideas on what they look and sound like.

I'm not particularly interested in magic books. Nevertheless, I am concerned about just what transpired with Magician Borlock. Might Delvin's adventure with Jarla and Fionella have been attributed to Magician Borlock? There appears to be a disconnect between the two cases. Delvin is waiting over a lifeless corpse with a table leg in his hand one minute and off on an expedition the next. Thanks for allowing me to express my review

Townsend seems like a great writer! I believe I would appreciate that the characters' appearances are left to the reader to imagine. Thanks for the great review.

From the sample I read this book sounds very interesting. The book starts off with Delvin being accused of murder. I'd look to know what happens next, is he guilty? Or could there be more to this story?

Adventure, fantasy and magic all mixed into one story. That definitely sounds like something I would enjoy reading.

I read this book and it was amazing. Delvin's character is one you can't help but love. The book is full of suspense and is a good choice for people who like reading about magic. Congratulations on BOTD

From the first looking at the title of the book, I didn't think that it would be for me, but after reading your review, it changed my mind. Your review left me intrigued and now I can't wait to read this book. Great Review!

I read the whole book, and I like this review. I disagree only on two points. First, my favourite character is Delvin - I like his witty pranks and his care for his rabbit Freda. And I think that limited description of the character appearance leaves good space for imagination.
