I care little about books on magic. However, I am curious about what happened to Magician Borlock. Did the adventure Delvin went on with Jarla and Fionella have anything to do with Magician Borlock? It seems like there is a gap between the two instances. One minute Delvin is standing over a dead body with a chair leg in his hand, and the next minute he is off on an adventure. The Magicians Secret sounds like an excellent novel. I love all novels that have magic in them. I like the fact that the author was a bit vague on the character appearance; it gives one the opportunity to create your own ideas on what they look and sound like.

Might Delvin's adventure with Jarla and Fionella have been attributed to Magician Borlock? There appears to be a disconnect between the two cases. From the sample I read this book sounds very interesting. The book starts off with Delvin being accused of murder. I'd look to know what happens next, is he guilty? Or could there be more to this story?

I read the whole book, and I like this review. I disagree only on two points. First, my favourite character is Delvin - I like his witty pranks and his care for his rabbit Freda. And I think that limited description of the character appearance leaves good space for imagination.
