Eve led us to death by eating an apple for the weakness of wanting to be better than she was created.
Romans fell from grace through their own devices.
I think there should be lessons in this narrative not only for the characters weaknesses for sex but for what it should take to be a conqueror without succumbing to fleeting illusions of romance and raging hormones.

I was intrigued to read your review because you have given it 3 out of 4 stars when most of the reviews for this book were 4 out of 4 stars. I should say, the rating is very much fair given the lack of originality. But it seems to be such a good read because I love historic fiction and would like to read it. Thank you for the review!
