The story talks about how Kathryn's father disappears while talking to his sister, Jacquelyn, on the sidewalk and how Kathryn accept a job that offers her a $125,000 annual salary, housing, and full medical, dental, and retirement benefits without considering how it will affect their longtime relationship. I like how the characters were well-developed. Nice review.

Captivating storyline. Teamwork is a theme I love reading about and the author's word building transports the reader into the story.

In the sci-fi, fantasy, and mystical novel Praesidium, four young people who have recently been chosen for specific duties take the lead. It's a book you should read. I appreciate your review.

Praesidium by McKinley Aspen is Book One in the Shadows in the Wind series. One question I would like to have an answer to how Kathryn and Scott's relationship will affected due to their jobs. Congratulations on BOTD.

The fact that there were no negative aspects mentioned in the review speaks volumes about the book's quality. A well-written and fast-paced story that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish is always a treat. The anticipation for the sequel generated by the ending shows the author's ability to create excitement and leave readers eager for more.

Thank you for an awesome review. The sample intrigued me, and kept my attention, something a book, or anything else for that matter, has been able to do in quite some time due to the chaotic nature my life's become. I'm looking forward to see how Kathryn's father and Aunt fit into all this. Sci -Fi isn't usually my forté, but the author had me wanting to know more.
And congratulations to the author for the unique presentation of the story as well as getting BOTD. It's well deserved!

I recently completed reading "Praesidium" by McKinley Aspen, and I have to admit that it was a really interesting experience. The dystopian future depicted in the novel is one in which a strong government dominates society. The journey of the main character, who seeks out the truth and works to effect change, is followed. :techie-studyingbrown:

First of all, I thought this book's world-building was fantastic. The author did a great job of constructing a convincing and all-encompassing dystopian civilization. The city, the technology, and the mood as a whole were vividly and engrossingly described. I had the impression that I was there, going through everything with the characters. :)
The main character was sympathetic and relatable. Through the course of the novel, I found myself supporting them. It was encouraging to see how determined they were to oppose the repressive government and fight for freedom. I liked how the author illustrated their personal struggles and development as they overcame different challenges.

The narrative has several unexpected turns, which kept me interested from start to finish. There were exciting parts, action sequences, and even some touching bits that made me feel things. The mix between aggressive and calm, contemplative intervals in the pace was excellent.
The underlying topics covered in the novel were one component that particularly caught my attention. It discussed subjects including governmental monitoring, control, and the influence of personal agency. These topics got me thinking about the value of challenging authority and standing up for what is right in our own society.

Nevertheless, there were a few areas where it might have been done better. Some of the supporting characters felt underdeveloped and lacked substance. I would have preferred to see more surprises along the road, and a couple story lines felt a little obvious.
Overall, reading "Praesidium" was interesting and stimulating. It was simple to be swept up in the narrative thanks to McKinley Aspen's vivid and engaging writing style. I certainly suggest giving this book a try if you like dystopian literature with great characters and an engaging narrative.

The mention of the importance of teamwork in the book intrigued me. It's always fascinating to explore how characters rely on each other and how their interactions can make a difference between life and death. This aspect makes me even more interested in reading the book and discovering how the four-member team navigates their challenges.

Did Kathryn's father disappear into space or disappear as in a police case? I'm not sure and would love to find out about this. I love coincidence in books as I never understand where it will lead me to. I can't lie because the review has made me crave this book. Congratulations on making a book of the day.
