Review of LIT
LIT by Mark Anthony is a psychological horror novel about a group of people who are cursed with the ability to unleash literal monsters when they feel anger. These monsters, called Leviathans, feed off the emotions of their hosts and can cause them to do terrible things. The novel follows Ellie, a young woman who is LIT, as she tries to survive the annual Circle, a night when all the LIT people in the world gather together.
The novel explores the themes of trauma, abuse, and mental illness. It shows how these experiences can damage people and make them vulnerable to the Leviathans. LIT is a dark novel, but it is also a powerful story about hope and resilience.
The premise is original and intriguing. The idea of people being cursed with the ability to unleash monsters when they feel anger is a fresh take on the horror genre. The characters are well-developed and relatable. Ellie is a sympathetic protagonist who is easy to root for. I love how she carries herself. The other characters are also complex and interesting, and they help to add depth to the story.
The writing is atmospheric and suspenseful. Anthony does a great job of creating a sense of dread and unease. The novel is full of creepy moments that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. The themes are thought-provoking. LIT explores difficult topics, such as trauma, abuse, and mental illness. It does so creatively and intriguingly.
I found no negative aspects while reading. It speaks to how skilled the author is. There were no grammatical errors, showing that it was well-edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to lovers of action, sci-fi, and horror novels. Above all, this book is fun to read, and it will keep readers engaged throughout.

I like a good psychological horror/thriller! The title and cover definitely convey "dark," so if that's where it went, effective! I would agree that it is a fresh take on this genre, which makes it appealing. It's a nice touch that it's dark but also about hope and resilience as you say. I don't read a lot of horror (thanks to childhood reading of too much Steven King), but this one does interest me! Thanks so much for sharing your review with us!Victor Francis wrote: ↑24 Aug 2023, 05:59 [Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "LIT" by Mark Anthony.]
