Writing and Spirituality

I have just finished Karamazovs. Had a conversation with my wife about art and God and came to conclusion that true artist can not say what he/she wants to say without being aware that whatever is being said is not his/hers message but the message from beyond. The better understanding of that the stronger the message. Dostoyevski's understanding of that is the strongest of all the writers I have encountered so far.

I have not read Dost. recently, but can relate. Some mystic types have told me that I sometimes "channel" when I write, or really am getting spiritual aid.

Writing is spiritual to me but, more for the idea that the story connects to me and shows me myself. The best and worst parts of me are in my writing and that can be scary or amazing but either way, it's enlightening.
Writing for the writer is like a mirror for the actor I think. You can practice who you want to be or are supposed to be in front of one, but no matter what it is always going to show you who you are, truly.

I have explored reincarnation in my writing but I approach it from a metaphysical point of view rather than a theological point of view.

Some people do see reading or writing as their connection for something bigger or beyond and because all is possible in a book you can envision see and let your imagination roam free

I'm not a very spiritual person, but I subscribe to the belief that stories are pre-existing things that authors discover and rebuild. Like broken relics of a long-dead civilisation, in a way. Or maybe just an extension of the writer's subconscious. Anyway, I guess I just feel like stories are living things, in a way (although also not, because scientifically they aren't. But yeah)

The verse that explains the trap of so many words is, "In the multitude of words, there wanteth not sin." In other words, the more one speaks, and even writes, eventually, or quicker at times, fabrication arises, tales are told, the truth is exaggerated, hidden or covered.
