28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humourous Memoir by Poppy Mortimer is a hilarious tale of unbelievable dates.

An engaging narrative unfolds across 28 dates, each marked by a disastrous beginning or end. The author shares the story of encountering and experiencing each date, highlighting the humour and unbelievable incidents that make this read truly engaging. Despite the string of disasters, the tale is rich with lessons that guide her towards a deeper understanding of her desires and preferences. This captivating read is bound to be an instant hit with readers.

The clarity, simplicity, and engaging nature of the writing make for a compelling read. The author adeptly intertwines anecdotes, seamlessly blending intrigue and humour to create a captivating effect. I loved the author's remarkable ability to maintain optimism and hope for love, even in the face of numerous disappointments. The upfront warning about certain stories being potentially jarring for some readers demonstrates the author's consideration for diverse sensitivities. However, what follows in each tale are valuable lessons after every date. These lessons not only contribute to the overall enjoyment of the narrative but also resonate on a relatable level.

I found nothing to dislike in the book. The fusion of humour, relatability, and optimism makes this book an enriching and enjoyable read. There are no errors, and it is meticulously edited.

This book ranks among the most entertaining reads I've ever experienced. This is a wonderful read with a remarkable cast of characters, including Mr. Tunnel of Terror, Mr. Prince Charming, Mr. Hotel California, and Mr. Tikka Masala, as Poppy traverses the UK, the US, Australia, and back in her pursuit of success, fulfilment, and the right companion. She navigates a series of genuinely disastrous dating encounters, emerging a bit wiser after each. She candidly explores her insecurities and fears, providing a unique perspective on the dating landscape. Consequently, the book transcends being merely a compilation of amusing stories; it evolves into a thoughtful exploration of love, loss, and self-discovery. For all these reasons and more, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I highly recommend diving into the book for a delightful and humorous journey through the author's entertaining escapades. With a mix of wit, candid storytelling, and unexpected insights, it's a captivating read that offers both laughter and thoughtful reflections on love and self-discovery. It is a delightful read that will definitely appeal to a broad audience.
