Have you tried James Patterson's books? The Alex Cross series has quite a few books that are very interesting from a psychological point of view. You could try Roses are Red.

Also, it wasn't written in the last 10 years, but Watchmen is amazing and very psychological as well.

Conscience of a Dead Killer: Although the title suggests morbid death and carnage, there really is none. It hosts no adult situations or even profanity. It even has a happy ending.

The story: A killer's ghost is forced to go back in time and witness the lives of his victims with a conscience, until he meets an FBI agent who can see him where no one else can.

It can be found on Amazon or ordered through about a million other places.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

I would suggest reading Crank by Ellen Hopkins. The book is written in verse and is loosely based on the life of Hopkins' own daughter. It is the story of a perfect daughter and student who visits her deadbeat father in Reno and there becomes addicted to Crank. There is a sequel to Crank titled Glass, which follows the main character's life as she becomes addicted to the drug after being clean for several months. Hopkins is also writing a third book in the series titled Fallout, which is not due out until 2010.

Although someone has already mentioned two of her books I'd recommend anything by Jodi Picoult, although some are better then others they are incredibly well informed, well written, and make for very gripping reading.
