Mrs. White's Sub Snips is a cartoon compilation of substitute teachers' experiences in school. It illustrates the stark differences in treatment and disdain that substitute teachers face compared to regular teachers. This is a true story compilation from the author, Laura Moss White, who has worked as a substitute teacher for 15 years for grades K–12. Reading this cartoon book, I could see the discrimination and beauty privileges that some teachers experience.

While reading, I couldn't help but wonder: Why should we treat substitute teachers this way? Some substitute teachers are required to perform unusual tasks for the regular teachers. I have seen in reality that they are asked to clean for regular teachers or step out and buy stuff that the teacher needs. This is totally wrong and should be frowned upon by society. The students also bully them, and there is no protection in place for these teachers. They are the backbone of schools and are always available when the regular teachers call out, so there should be some form of respect and recognition accorded to them. In this book, I got to see an instance where it was lunchtime, and there was an empty chair at the teacher's table and a substitute teacher needed to use the chair but was told off. This book contains numerous instances of such mistreatment.

I think the higher-ups in the educational field should read this book so they can implement some form of protection for these teachers. These substitute teachers cannot take disciplinary action against the kids who treat them wrongly because, somehow, they do not have the same rights as regular teachers. The book's presentation was welcoming and made light of the situation, making it easy to read. There were no errors in this book. It was finely written and is well deserving of the perfect five out of five-star rating.
