Do you suffer from a fear that prevents you from living your life to the fullest? Are you preoccupied by this fear every day? Do you wish that you did not have this fear? Do you want to free yourself from this fear? If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, you should read Phobia Relief: From Fear To Freedom by Kalliope Barlis.

Barlis teaches the reader how to use Neuro-Linguistic Programming to change their thoughts about their fear. Step-by-step instructions are listed for the reader to follow. By following these steps the reader will be able to focus on their thoughts about the fear, to minimize and discard the overwhelming visions of their fear, and to replace these visions with ones that are reality-based, thereby allowing them to lead a more purposeful life.

I like how the book gets down to business right away. As you read the book, you will be able to start changing your thought patterns that are responsible for the irrational phobia which is crippling you. The simplicity of this process is demonstrated with examples of sessions, Barlis had with people, using Neuro-Linguistic Programming. You will be encouraged to forget about the past, to deal with the present, and to visualize a fulfilling future. You may be able to resolve your phobia in the time it takes to go through the methodical processes outlined for you to follow. I feel comfort in the fact that this book is a do-it-yourself manual. You just have to follow the instructions. And bingo! You are cured!

I watched a YouTube video, suggested by Barlis, which featured a Hall of Fame football player who was guided by Dr. Richard Bandler, a co-founder of NLP, to rid himself of his phobia of snakes. This was accomplished in one session during a talk show on television. This was very convincing!

This book is well edited. It is not very long. The material is relevant and is easy to understand. I cannot say that there is anything I dislike about this book. It gives hope to those who suffer from a crippling phobia and cannot afford to pay for therapy. I give Phobia Relief: From Fear To Freedom by Kalliope Barlis 5 out of 5 stars.

I have read the book and it is not badly written but I had trouble to be able to follow the exercises and read them at the same time. I think a truly personal session cannot be replaced by the book, although it might be good for introducing the methods or as a refreshment for those who were given sessions already. Did it work for you in the book format?

The book "Phobia Relief: From Fear To Freedom" sounds promising, offering practical steps to overcome fears using Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It seems like a valuable resource for those struggling with fears hindering their daily lives. I'm intrigued by the idea of replacing overwhelming visions with reality-based thoughts.

We're in agreement on this book Gerry. I also loved the no-nonsense, straight-down-to-business approach. To this day I still use the exercises I learned from this book.

I sometimes feel as though I have an irrational phobia of spiders and bees. Thank you for sharing this review! It sounds like something I could benefit from by reading. I will have to keep an eye out for this one as well, for an opportunity to conduct a review of it. Thank you for sharing this review, Gerry. All the best.
I am an avid reader. I typically read 1-2 books per week. I enjoy a wide array of genres including Sci Fi, Action/Thriller, and Historical Fiction.

As a geologist and christian, I also particularly enjoy books on science and faith.

Barlis really invests a lot in enlightening readers on how to use Neuro-Linguistic Programming to teach about fear. I like the step by step instructions listed for the reader to follow.

I read this book too and was curious as to how the mind responds to the external and how we can train it. ...which took me too to the video clips. Straightforward and encouraging for many. Great review @Gerry Steen!
