To tell or not to tell . . . that is the question

Opinions wanted: I am writing a memoir and I need to decide if I should not tell anyone I am writing or tell at least one person. I can't decide if there is more motivation in following through when there is withheld urgency to get the words on the page so that I have something to show someone or if the urgency arises from following through with what I tell someone. I know this is individual, but I'm curious what other writers think on this matter.

How far into writing do you share your work? As you go, after 1st draft, after 2nd draft? I'm just curious for when and why you writers choose to get responses.

I suppose you could tell someone what you're doing, but you still don't necessarily have to show them anything, and can just say it's still a rough draft, if they ask. You should do it only if you think it will help you; but if there is no need to tell people, or it will make you uncomfortable, you don't have to.

Honestly there isn't just one answer its like some people work well under pressure while others crumble it just depends on who you are and if you enjoy criticism or you would rather criticize yourself
