Today's BOTD is a fast-paced medical thriller that follows various characters as they deal with the effects of a deadly virus. Told in alternating points-of-view, readers will feel they are watching everything unfold before their very eyes, wondering what's coming next. This sounds like a well-written, super engaging read! Thank you so much for the great review!! :-)

The author's expertise in immunology adds credibility to the science, making the focus on bioterrorism in the medical thriller chillingly realistic. It's a read that is gripping and unsettling. Congrats on BOTD!

Particles in the Air by Jenna Podjasek highlights one of the most devious forms of terrorism. It talks about Bioterrorism, where a virus is created and unleashed upon the US. This brings back so many memories and is a captivating read.

Wonderful review! I appreciate the simple language used. Jenna Podjasek did a fantastic job. Ever since COVID, I've enjoyed reading thrillers like this one. From the sample I’ve seen, I expect this book to be a real page-turner. It has a compelling intro, and I’m excited to read more. This seems like an excellent book. Congrats on being the Book of the Day!

This medical thriller opens with a scientist who is disillusioned with the status quo, and the story unfolds from their perspective. The novel presents an intriguing setting and a captivating start. In light of the recent pandemic, the plot’s premise, when combined with real-world events, feels chillingly plausible and immediately engaging. It’s a truly compelling read.

I wonder if the author wrote this book before or after COVID. It's definitely terrifying to think of the possibility of bioterrorism. I love thrillers, and I hope Mallory is able to catch the culprit. I'll check this book out.

A Gripping and Unsettling Thriller

This is a masterfully crafted, intense thriller that explores the seamiest level of human nature, threading together tenuous threads of desperation, entitlement, xenophobia, and violence. Vivid descriptive passages and an evenly quick pace lend an air of persuasive tension to this work and suck one into the world of Dr. Erik Lindgren, a multi-textured, troubled protagonist.

The character of Erik is masterfully developed through description and the revealing of his personality as being multi-dimensional and complex. His circumstances are driven by a sense of desperation and entitlement based on perceived injustices, taking him on a terrible course. Thus, John Steinbeck masterfully exposes Erik's flaws; therefore, Erik would be a quite unapproachable character who is very much relatable.

But Malmo's world of worn, decaying streets and its eerie atmosphere further give reasons for unease. The author also described nature in such a real, vivid manner that one could only vividly imagine the scene. Dissonance between Erik's urbane, professional life and the dark, grimy world he entered was striking, and in any case, a line between good and evil is decidedly blurred.

The rest of the characters in the story are interesting; above all, this white-haired enigmatic man seemed to have an air of command and mystery. When Sameer's introduction was made, questions cropped up, adding to the suspense and curiosity. The motive and nature of the characters have been brought out through the dialogues and interaction of the characters by the author, adding depth to the story.

Themes of xenophobia and racism give way to a timely message, making the story even more complex. Indeed, the author is tactful with these sensitive subjects, avoiding stereotypes, but looking at the issues in detail.

My criticisms would be that sometimes the scenes can feel a bit rushed, and the scientific aspects could have been elaborated a little bit more on Erik's work. Besides, some characters feel just a bit underdeveloped, and more context might have been welcome for the reader.

Overall, this is a gripping and unsettling read that will appeal to any lover of dark thrillers and crime fiction. The writing is engaging, and the author has certainly proven his ability to craft a compelling narrative. If there is further development of the supporting cast of characters and plot points, this story could truly be exceptional.

Certain events shape our perception and influence how we view the world around us. Before COVID, I might have seen this book as just another conspiracy theory, but now it feels much more real, and I truly appreciate the author’s work. The review does a great job of capturing the essence of the book, and I’m eager to see how the author uses the bioweapon storyline to engage readers. The fast-paced nature of the book is another aspect I’m looking forward to—no dull moments to worry about. Thank you for the interesting review. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

Medical thrillers are my kind of book. I like it that it is not obvious right away who the bad guy is, I love to think and guess while reading. Kudo's on the author for not having a single typo in the book.

I must say, the author’s ability to ignite constructive suspense while creatively appreciating the natures seascape (beach view) was amazing. Though I’m yet to understand what exactly happened to Emily, because so many thought clouded my mind which makes it more interesting and intriguing. This thriller is a mixture of both suspense and tension. Kudos to the author.
