Island in the Sun by Monica Carly is about the author's life in Jamaica 1948-1954. The book historically covers everything from WWII to a visit from the Queen of England. Nice pictures! The book gets better as you read. It also discusses a racial disparity system called the "colour bar" created for Jamaica while under British rule. Easy read! Very interesting!

I am currently delving into a singular new read which is "A King Amongst Us". This historical, dystopic and dark adventure is the one of a slaved young man slowly honing his hatred towards is captor into a finely pointed weapon.

I'm reading 2 books at this time. I've started re-reading 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn'. This is my first time reading it in at least 20 or 25 years, and I was getting anxious to read it again.

I am also reading ''High Tea and the Low Down", by Claire Craig Evans.

I'm reading Paradise Lost by Milton. I was put off for the longest time, assuming it was just a sympathetic take on a "misunderstood satan" but I'm glad I finally gave it a chance because it's completely different than I thought it would be in a good way

Hello to everyone!

The book that I'm currently reading is Conversations with God. V.1. From Neale Donald, and to be sincere, it has been quite a surprise. The ideas shown there got me thinking all the time, in a good way. I found God or Spirit, or you name it, full of supreme love for the creation, every person, animal, and idea. This book is helping me to go further on my spiritual journey and is something that I hope everyone can experience and choose.
Thank you for reading, c:

Reading "In the Heart of the Linden Wood" by Ekta R. Garg through OBC. Also rereading two other books on the side: "The Altar Within" by Juliet Diaz & "Die Wonderwese" by Carina Stander (the 2nd one is an Afrikaans book, which is a South African language).

In addition to listening to the audio version of Cranford by Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell, I am currently reading Marcel Proust's Remembrance of Things Past. Classic literature is something I adore.

I typically have at least two books going at a time - one physical book and one audio book. My current physical book is The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent. Then I am listening to 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Both are fantastic so far, but I find myself looking forward to 100 Years of Solitude more often.
