Although Jack Winnick's book is part of the Lara and Uri series, it also works as a standalone novel that can be enjoyed on its own. In this edition, the duo is once again on a mission to thwart a new terrorist plot. This time, the terrorists plan to poison the water supply and might succeed if they aren't stopped in time. Will Lara and Uri be able to secure the people’s safety? It’s worth reading to find out. The book promises to be a compelling read, and I’m excited to dive in. Thank you for the insightful review, congratulations to the author on BOTD.

Espionage and terrorism are the highlights of "Waterworks" by Jack Winnick.
It is a fast-paced thriller that gets the reader’s attention from the first page and engages them until the end.
Follow Lara and Uri, two Mossad agents, as they infiltrate the intelligence sources in Iran to discover the malicious intent behind the contamination of the water from the filtration system in Los Angeles with polonium, an exceedingly rare type of toxic radioactive material.

“Waterworks” by Jack Winnick is a fictional, but possible, story about a terrorist attack on the Los Angeles water supply. Teams of terrorists that were members of an Iranian anti-American group added Polonium to the water supply by dropping it in the water from bridges in socks that they used to bring the poison into the U.S. Lara and Uri were already in Los Angeles on vacation so they were deployed to track down the terrorists and find their leader in Iran. This is an action thriller that I did not want to put down until the last page. This book is Jack Winnick’s 5th book in this series and all of his books are well-written and have kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. I highly recommend this book.

The theme of modern day wars is never exhausted. Closeness to reality and the availability of weapons is daunting as mentioned by the author Jack Winnick. I think I will enjoy the narrative and action in this book, and the closure that the story provides as the reviewer mentioned .

This books seems to be fun to read. I'm specially curious about the small details of how these kind of things work. How international entities operate for good or evil, because these stories are, I guess, somewhat a reflection of what happens in reality. Would love to read this one!

Thank you for the well-detailed review. Jack Winnick’s “Waterworks” captivates readers with its fast-paced narrative and intricate details about intelligence operations. The author’s expertise in Middle Eastern affairs enriches the story, making it both thrilling and educational. It sounds like the clear, straightforward language enhances accessibility, ensuring that complex themes are engaging rather than overwhelming.
