Thank you for this thorough review of Waterworks! It’s clear that Jack Winnick’s knowledge shines in the story, especially with how realistically he describes the technology and tactics involved in counterintelligence. I was really intrigued by the use of polonium as a weapon—it adds a unique and frightening touch to the plot. Your point about the detailed steps Lara and Uri take, from gaining new identities to gathering intelligence, makes the story sound easy to follow while still intense and complex. I also appreciate the caution about violence and the pro-USA/pro-Israel perspective, as that helps readers know what to expect. Your review truly makes this thriller sound gripping and well-written!

**Waterworks** by Jack Winnick is an enthralling mystery novel that masterfully blends suspense and intrigue. The narrative centers on a multifaceted investigation, intricately navigating through layers of deception, personal stakes, and high-stakes criminal activity. The protagonist, a seasoned investigator, embarks on a challenging case that delves into the contentious issues of water rights and corruption. In this fifth book in the series featuring Lara and Urdu, there is no abatement of suspense. Thanks, reviewer, for the simplified synopsis of the plot. I was a bit puzzled as to how they deduced that a sock was an Iranian sock.

Eddie Moskowitz discovers something unusual in the water and further investigation confirms polonium contamination. Former FBI agents Lara Edmond and Uri Levin are called to assist in a terrorist attack. Waterworks sounds like a gripping read with a relatable narrative and will be loved by fast-paced thrillers.
