Amanda, the first of two girls, is a young teen who is confused about what she wants out of life after high school and is always ruffled by her 6-year-old sister, Saira, who is smart and emotionless in her behavior. Amanda is the acolyte of truth who is destined to save the world from any other acolyte that is seeking to destroy it. Amanda is hesitant about embracing and accepting her duty as the savior of the world until the acolyte of death, who is also known to her, threatens the lives of those she loves. This responsibility and identity were unknown to her at first but were activated after she was involved in an accident with her father.

Rise of the Savior: Acolyte of Truth by Antoine Bonner is an interesting fantasy story that will encourage you to read one more line until the very end. I enjoyed the sci-fi theme of the story and how every character in the story was connected to each other. The constant fights between the different deities of the acolytes were both captivating and funny, especially with the way Boop, Saira’s deity, attacks both people and deities without any provocation, and the way Ana and the spirits in her battle for whose voice would be loudest. Saira, though being the youngest of all the acolytes, spoke and acted intelligently because of her intelligence, and the acolytes had to take instructions from her. I also admire Amanda's freedom in expressing herself. She never hid her emotions, excitement or irritation at any time.

In spite of the exciting contents of this book, the characters were rather too numerous and confusing to keep up with. At a point, I had to go back to remember who was who and their roles. The characters were showing up with speed and the story was also fast. Most of the time while reading the book, I had to read a paragraph multiple times. I felt like I was running on the runway with the story and trying to catch my breath.

Although there were child characters in this book, I do not recommend this book for children or young teens due to the profane words that were used, even by Saira and Amanda. This book is also not restricted to any particular religion, though someone who is a strong Christian may find it difficult to read this book because of the strange practices and deities represented in it.

It is safe to say that this book was very well edited as there were no errors and the language used was in its simplest form for anyone to understand. I therefore rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I read this book, but unfortunately, it didn't impress me that much. I found out that there were many moving parts in the story, that it was hard for me to be invested in it because of this. That's why I couldn't rate it full five stars. However, your different opinions makes sense and made me realise things I might have overlooked while reading the book. Good job.
