The orphans were owning the name they were bullied with to prove to their bullies and others who would stop them that they did were in fact very smart, they also were advocating for the ill privileged so others would not need to face what they did. They had a name other orphans could relate to. The title, in my opinion, is very powerful and definitely justified throughout thr whole trilogy. They turned "beauty from ashes" as the quote goes.

I think that firstly, it was a great marketing trick to up the selling scale, and secondly, it was a fair choice considering the plot.

I understand the author's perspective but seeing the market for this book consists largely of young adults it's not really justified.

At first I really didn't like that the word 'dumb' was in the title, but as I continued reading it made perfect sense. I came to realize that the meaning behind 'dumb' orphans was perfectly orchestrated.

The quotation marks show that the author disagrees with this work being applied to the orphans. This is relevant to the story because other people called them dumb, but the orphans proved them wrong.

The "Dumb" Orphans is the name that the privileged school kids used to label the orphans who were not permitted to attend classes. The quotation marks around the word dumb demonstrate that sarcasm is being used to show that these kids were not dumb at all. In fact they were resourceful and creative. Their quest for survival on a daily basis enabled them to learn lessons that many of the school educated kids would not learn.(For instance, how to scare off cobra snakes). In this sense, the book tile is justified.

This is reverse psychology. The members of the society, including the community head, gave them no chance and labelled them as dumb. It was up to them to prove them wrong.
