Spoken Word "The Whistler"

Post by Hilda Whitter »

You could hear
The sound of
The lobby door
As it unlocked
And slammed
Deep in the night
An eerie sound
Of a whistled
Melody
Woke up the building
The threatening pursed lips
Of the person
I call the Whistler
Never knocked
On my door to enter
Just an empty
Vibration igniting
Fear
Would cross my mind
As the Whistler
Returned to whistle
With an echo
Resound
Cold and frightened
I would cover-up
As best as I could
Until the
Whistler walked
Out the lobby door
In my neighborhood

I've always had a weird thing about whistling. When I hear someone whistling from afar or in another room it just... creeps me out for some reason. This really painted a picture of that feeling for me.
