Good review! The first thing that I thought when I started reading this book was, "Ugh! Another self-help book!" Then, with the religious elements added in, that really turned me away. I will not be reading this one, but I am glad that you enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed reading your review! I appreciate how you pointed out the use of colorful chapter illustrations — especially the image of the girl in the jar — because it shows how visual elements can powerfully reinforce the book’s emotional message. I also liked how you mentioned the real-life examples the author included, like Chelsea and the young engineer, to make the concepts more relatable. It’s great to hear that the book also provided credible references, which gives it even more authority. Your review helped me understand that The Irrational Fear Cure is both practical and heartfelt, and now I’m more interested in picking it up myself!

"The Irrational Fear Cure" by Teri Smith-Pickens is a faith-based non-fiction book that spotlights four steps to overcoming irrational fear. The author’s struggles and how she overcame them, as retold in this book, is also an added benefit to people needing to recover from obsessive compulsive behaviour. It is noteworthy to point out that this book tilts majorly towards Christianity.

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! I really appreciate how you highlighted the use of colorful illustrations and personal stories in The Irrational Fear Cure: In Four Miraculous Steps. It sounds like Teri Smith-Pickens did a wonderful job of connecting with readers on a personal level while also providing practical advice. I’m especially interested in the way the book ties emotional struggles like obsessive-compulsive behaviors back to childhood fears — that’s such an important and often overlooked topic. I’m looking forward to checking this one out, especially because you mentioned the editing was professional and the tone was conversational. Thanks again for your helpful insights!

Non fiction is not my cup of tea but the book sounds very informative. Fears are so difficult to overcome just because they are irrational. It will be interesting to find out what those Four Miraculous Steps are. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I think we all suffer from our own addictions, fear of imperfection, and past trauma, and we slowly find ourselves being trapped and not knowing how to get out of the web we have woven ourselves. We find it hard to reach out and ask for help for fear of being judged. I'm pretty sure it's a good read.
