Gardening

Post by Jen Cowhig »

Hi,
It is almost planting time in my climate zone and I want to try planting seeds this year. Does anyone have any good gardening books or tips to share? I have not had luck with seeds in the past, but have had some luck planting using rooted vegetable scraps.

While I could have a flower garden, in the current economy I would love to have a flourishing vegetable garden! I love fresh fruits/vegetables and having a garden is a good way to get them.

Maybe Animal, Miracle, Vegetable by Barbara Kingsolver could be a good starting book.

I read that book in college, and it has a lot of gardening factoids and the book is a rather accessible narrative.
