The reason the idea appeared instantly in my head is because I recently finished reading the book The Turtle-Jack Killings. The main plot in the book involved the Ojibwe community protesting the set-up of a copper-nickle mine in Minnesota. Sorry, I guessed so quickly.Priya Murugesan wrote: ↑28 May 2025, 08:58 You found out very quickly, Gerry!! Little sad about that

Ding, ding, ding! You got it on the first try. I guess my first two clues couldn't distract you. The Irish Rover's Unicorn is the first song I think of when the Irish Rovers are mentioned. I'll be ready for your next riddle.

My patience is "wear"ing thin. I have been climbing the walls and chewing the carpets in an effort to "wear" down the Riddle Demons which accost me .... but I shall persevere; however, for now I must imbibe for this riddle has driven me to "drink". .....

You are really funny @DAToDATo wrote: ↑31 May 2025, 05:06 This is actually a very interesting riddle. The key we have to work with is the word "wear". Now, one's first inclination is to suppose the word "wear" pertains to clothing, jewelry, or accessories, but "wear" can also pertain to a facial expression such as "wear a frown" or a smile. And just when you have resigned yourself to this it also occurs to you that "wear" can also mean to "wear" something down, such as a pencil lead or car brakes.
