Overall opinion before reading?

Post by Tina Thomssen »

I have not read this book yet, only the description. My initial thoughts on what it would be about (before reading the description) were wrong. I'm still interested in reading it, but what do you think? If you have already read it, what were your thoughts going into it?

Before reading Chloe the Clone by William E. Mason, my overall impression is one of curiosity mixed with cautious optimism. The title alone, "Chloe the Clone", immediately signals a sci-fi angle with potential emotional depth.

Feels like a mix of sci-fi and emotional themes. The idea of a cloned child meant to save a life but ending up as more than just that is interesting and at the same time emotional.

What appeals to me about the book is the relationship between the man needing a new heart and Chloe the clone. I'm intrigued to find out how this storyline develops.

The human feeling that overcame need caught my attention. The book contains a part of the difficulty of predicting human behavior in certain situations. The story itself is difficult in terms of mixed feelings, but it is promising.
Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

This book is on my to read list. While it sounds sci-fi, I think the emotional depth and the ethical questions it raises may put it into the urban and drama genres. I'm still keen to read it, but I suspect I'll need to be in the right frame of mind as it does sound like a thought-provoking novel.

It's a little stressful just having read the blurb and amazon description! I'm a father and so any media that depicts kids (especially a girl around my daughter's age) in danger is tough for me to read. I am still deciding whether to bully through here!
